OUR 2025 Spring Appeal
Please donate today!
Each year, we rely on our community to give generously during our Spring Appeal to support the important work involved in bringing free music education to students in Bridgeport. With your help, we continue to create our vision of a world where every child has access to the transformative experience of studying and playing music regardless of circumstances.
The Opportunity to Learn
Young Bridgeport musicians turn to KEYS as part of a well-rounded education.
In order to thrive, young people need to develop a positive sense of self, set and achieve goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
This learning happens through the study of music!
Tiffany Ladson-Lang - Principal Beardsley School, Bridgeport CT
“Teachers see a big difference in the students who participate in the KEYS program. Students are not only improving in attendance because they have to come to school to participate in this program, but they're also doing their work and asking questions when they need assistance. Our KEYS students are like shining stars in every sense of the word. They go from quiet and timid, to being confident, speaking up for themselves, as well as being active participants in the classroom.”
Jeanne Gnuse - KEYS Supporter since 2011
“I see the KEYS program as one that develops more than just the love of music. I see the program as one that develops a sense of self-discipline, a sense of contribution to the community, a sense of understanding of what music can do for their mental health. A sense of what is new, and that it allows them to develop in two ways, as a group participant and individually.”
Kaelyn - KEYS Intern
“Through KEYS, I learned that music brings everybody together and it truly shows. I have made so many amazing friends here.”
Liana - KEYS Student
“The KEYS music program has taught me skills in and out of music - from how to read music better to how to get to places on time and be responsible.”
Peter Randazzo - KEYS Teacher
“One of the things I love about music and the arts in general is the inclusivity of the artistic community. It’s important to expose as many kids as possible to music education.”

KEYS Free Summer Program
There is always lots of music, laughter, outdoor games, and time to make new friends, leaving kids eager to continue their musical studies when school is back in session. Graduates have a great summer experience too with paid internships that improve musical, organizational, and leadership skills.
